LEE HUNT’S PROMO OF THE WEEK

Lots of creative services shops put together a year-ender reel. Usually, it’s a well-edited montage of their work for the last 12 months. But this year, I saw one that really stood out. Cause + Effect in NYC used AI to highlight all their non-AI work. The email that I received noted that they had reached out “to a certain famous Hollywood director to create a year-end video. He politely declined.” So they decided to use machine learning to help tell their 2023 story.
Why I like these spots
At first, I thought it was a brave but risky approach, then realized that it demonstrated their ability to work with machine and non-machine learning creative. The results are really impressive. (Full disclosure: my son, Austin, works at Cause + Effect.)
